When everyone wants a piece of you, how do you hide what you’re becoming?

In the aftermath of a Gate investigation in the town of Laylton, Romy Ussher has been changed by a potion brewed by the sorceress Circe. She struggles to cope with wildly unpredictable powers and energy levels as she learns more about the Roads and tries to determine who she can trust within the Ancient Order of Roadwrights.

In Llithfaen and around the world, strange forces are on the move. Are they the work of the ancient cult of the NeoAtlanteans, or the shadowy Dark Alchemist? A mysterious creature that’s been terrorizing both Llithfaen and Laylton for decades is reawakening, and even the Fae have requested Romy’s help.

Romy and enigmatic professor Rad Enkara grow closer as they race to thwart the evil poisoning the planet. However, Rad guards his own secrets as he steers Romy toward a risky transformation that will both heal her and enhance her powers, but may also turn her into the deadliest predator the galaxy has ever seen. Can she survive the road to her own destiny?

Into the Forbidden Fire is the second book in the Chaos Roads Trilogy. Follow Romy Ussher’s mission to prevent the Earth from being destroyed once again along with everyone she cares about.

Carla M 5.0 out of 5 stars A real page-turner I’m not usually drawn to sci-fi/fantasy books or movies, but when I started reading Through the Monster Glass, I was immediately captivated and fell in love with Romy and all the other characters. I loved it!

I can’t wait for the next installment in the series to see what happens next. This is such an interesting and well-written book.

A reader 5.0 out of 5 stars Makes me want to hang out with these people Interesting story that combines lots of fantastical elements — from ancient Egyptian artifacts and Atlantis myths and aliens from other worlds and dimensions — and somehow it all works. Jurus describes her settings and characters and the clothes they wear and the food they eat in great detail, painting rich pictures of her scenes. (And they always eat dessert!) Well-written. I enjoyed it.
